Dear Brothers and Sisters, Assalam Alaikum Wrahmatullah Wabarakatuh. In a Hadith Qudsi, Abu Hurrayrah, May Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the messenger of Allah, PBUH, said: Allah, the Almighty, will say on the Day of Judgment: O Son of Adam, I fell ill and you visited me not. He will say: O lord, and how should I visit you when you are the lord of the worlds? He will say: Did you not know that my servant so-and-so had fallen ill and you visited him not? Did you know had you visited him you would have found me with him? O son of Adam I asked you for food and you fed me not. He will say: O lord, and how should I feed you and you are the lord of the worlds? He says did you not know that my servant so-and-so asked you for food and you fed him not? Did you know had you fed him you would surely have found that with me? O son of Adam I asked you to give me a drink and you gave me not. He will say: O lord, how should I give you a drink when you are the lord of the world? He will say: My servant so-and-so asked you to give him a drink and you gave him not. Had you given him a drink you would have surely found that with me? Muslim Strengthening the social bonds among members of our community is one of the most important goals of establishing a healthy Islamic Center. The Masjid should be the base from which we establish the brotherly relationships among ourselves, help each other in times of need and help raise the new generation in a strong and secure environment. We need to continue to study the life of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) and his companions as a complete way of life. We should look to them for examples on the ways they implemented these principles in their daily lives, even when some of them became a minority in a non-Muslim majority society. We need to teach our children the life stories of our true role models, the companions of the Prophet (PBUH). This requires the participation of every member of our community in any way he or she can and this includes helping with the building the Masjid insha’Allah. Wassalam Alaikum,
